First Raid on Hidann Village
It was still dark out, the moment before the sunrise and the birth of a new day. All was quiet, bar the rustling of the trees in the soft spring breeze. A gentle whisper drifted on the northern winds, and it carried with it the smells of the nearby Keltir community of Hidann Village. Less than a mile distant from the clan settlement, a rocky outcrop perhaps fifty foot from base to cliff top, intersected the trees of the Emberfen forest in a natural barrier of defiance. The crag face overshadowed a shallow gurgling river, keeping its water cool in the absence of the woodland foliage and the autumn shades of undergrowth.
